What can a claim include?
Compensation is not limited to the injury itself. Depending on the case, a claim may include pain, suffering and loss of amenity together with financial losses caused by the accident, such as loss of earnings, treatment or rehabilitation costs, care and assistance, travel expenses and other properly evidenced losses. More serious cases may require evidence about future care, accommodation, equipment, treatment and earning capacity.
Every case is fact-specific. We will identify the evidence required and advise on valuation when the medical and financial evidence is sufficiently developed.

Time limits
Personal injury claims are subject to limitation periods. For many negligence claims involving personal injury, the general period is three years from the date the cause of action accrued or, if later, the injured person’s date of knowledge. Different rules and exceptions can apply, including for children, people lacking capacity and some other categories of claim. Do not assume that you have three years in every case: obtain advice promptly.
